Lana was elected as Fort Wayne's City Clerk in 2015 and re-elected in 2019.
She was the first Republican City Clerk elected in 44 years, and the first female Republican ever elected. In working hard to return integrity, honesty, transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness to the City Clerk position and office, Lana Keesling has achieved a tremendous number of goals that she wants to build upon in a third term.
In the past 8 years:
- Purchased new parking meters that accept credit cards, all without using any tax dollars.
- In the process of rolling out an app so you can pay for on-street parking with your phone.
- Increased the number of accessible on-street parking spaces from 9 to 25.
- Began digitizing all City ordinances since the establishment of Fort Wayne for online viewing.
- Digitized videos of all City Council meetings for online viewing.
- Ensured City Council agendas were posted 48 hours before all Council meetings, and ensured vote totals are announced so the public knows them.
Third term goals:
- Increase the ease and customer experience for on-street parking.
- Enhance accessible parking for on-street and parking lots within City limits.
- Complete digitization of all documents and videos and add them to the public search portal
Lana has brought integrity, transparency and fiscal responsibility back to the office.

Lana Keesling is finishing her second term as City Clerk of Fort Wayne. She is the first Republican to hold the seat since 1971, and she is the first female Republican to ever hold the seat. In the 2015 election, she received the highest vote total of anyone on the ticket, including more votes than the Fort Wayne Mayor. In 2019, she received more votes than any other Republican on the ticket. Prior to being elected City Clerk, Lana held an executive position in a privately held company as CFO and Director of Information Technology for 18 years. She has 10 years’ experience as a small business owner, and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, graduating with Honors, and an MBA.

Lana has volunteered for the FWCS Study Connection Program, as a Girl Scout Troop leader, and as the Canterbury High School Speech Team Parent Coordinator. She has served on various boards and commissions including Citilink Public Transit Board, the Metropolitan Human Relations Commission, Editorial Board for City TV, League for the Blind and Disabled, and Allen County Extension Advisory Board. Lana is also the Vice-Chair of the Allen County Republican Party, the past President of the Allen County Republican Women’s Group, and a member of the Downtown GOP Club.

As an entrepreneur, businessperson, community leader, mom, and volunteer, Lana brings a unique perspective for many different avenues of community involvement. She has brought a new voice that is making a positive impact on the leadership of Fort Wayne.
